IMPORTING FROZEN SEMEN
FROM APPROVED COUNTRIES EXCLUDING AUSTRALIA
Import costs are $695 for the first dog, $450 for each subsequent dog per owner which includes shipment and clearance coordination and administration. GST and MPI costs are additional and varies depending on value placed on the semen by the shipper.
Export shipping costs are additional and you will need to obtain a quote from the reproduction clinic in the country you wish to import from directly.
We recommend the following reproduction clinics as we have done many import/exports with them and they offer a great service.

The main MPI requirements are:
Donor name, microchip number and date of collection on the vessel label
Brucella and Leptospirosis testing (generally the option of a blood test 3-6 weeks following date of collection is used).
Health check >15 days following semen collection to confirm healthy and no signs of contagious disease (i.e Rabies).
MPI have a physical check at the NZ border for 10% of imports, so it is important that everything meets requirements correctly in case of the consignment being selected. If selected, then someone from the Importing company (i.e TCI GlenBred) will be required to travel to the MPI transitional facility in Longburn, open the shipping container and go through the contents with an MPI inspector.

IMPORTING FROZEN SEMEN FROM AUSTRALIA
Our import fees are: $395 clearance coordination per dog, plus your share of MPI and GST fees (approx $50).
If the semen is to stay with us at TCI GlenBred then it is $95 storage per year.

EXPORTING FROZEN SEMEN
Our Semen export coordination is $650.00 to Australia and FROM $695.00 to the rest of the world, with the 2nd and subsequent dog $595.00 per owner. This includes shipment preparation, administration, and liquid nitrogen.
You will need to contact the exporter in the country you wish to export to, and obtain a quote for their fees which include the freight, clearances and sending the semen on to the purchasers vet. There is a list above in the importing section of the vets we work with regularly.
